19,347 fans watched an exciting game at the ballpark. The Dominican
Republicans came in to the game in quite a tailspin, but they were able to
snap their 5 game slide and topped the floundering Columbus Crowd by the
slimmest of margins, 2 to 1.
The deciding run was scored by Dominican in the 9th. After an out was
recorded, Vernon Wells lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 5th of the
season). Dominican won despite being out-hit by Columbus 9 hits to 3.
Mike Mussina(3-2) went 8 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Jorge Julio
earned the save, his 2nd. Tim Redding(1-3) ended up with the loss in relief.
'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Mussina said. 'It's great to be back on
the winning side of things.'
